Parasol Tahoe Community Foundation Grant Programs

Since its inception in 1996, the Parasol Tahoe Community Foundation and its donors have provided over $22 million in grant awards.  In addition, through its unique model of collaboration, Parasol has provided local organizations with office space, meeting room space and storage space valued at over $4 million.  Saving on overhead costs have allowed these organizations to invest more in programs and services that benefit our community.  See below to learn more about how our grant programs might assist your organization:

Parasol Tahoe Community Fund Grants
The purpose of the Parasol Tahoe Community Fund is to identify and support innovative, collaborative programs, projects and events provided to the Incline Village/Crystal Bay/Kings Beach community by member organizations of the Parasol Community Collaboration and their partners.  All applications must have a collaborative element.  Preference will be given to grant requests in the $1000 to $5000 range for projects of one year or less in duration and will be funded on a competitive basis.  Our next grant cycle is scheduled for Winter 2011.  Should you need further information regarding our application process, please email your questions to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. AmeriCorps Host Site Grants
The purpose of the Parasol Tahoe Community Foundation AmeriCorps Program is to engage AmeriCorps volunteers in direct service and capacity building to address unmet community needs in the areas of education, public safety, health and the environment.  This program is highly collaborative and brings a wealth of resources to qualified, participating non-profit organizations known as AmeriCorps Host Sites.  AmeriCorps members are assigned to serve at each of these selected Host Sites, providing 1700 of volunteer hours over the grant year, which runs from early September thru August each year.  Selected Host Sites must demonstrate their ability to adequately supervise members, provide them with an enriching service experience as well as have the financial capacity to meet the required funding match.  Our program serves the geographic area of Washoe and Douglas County, Nevada.

The application process for 2010-2011 AmeriCorps Host Site Grants closed on September 15, 2009.  However, for your reference, the 2010-2011 AmeriCorps Host Site Grant application and a sample of the 2010-2011 AmeriCorps Host Site Agreement are available below.  They contain important information regarding the requirements for AmeriCorps Host Sites.  Should you need further information regarding AmeriCorps, our application processes, or the requirements for AmeriCorps Host Sites, we encourage you to contact Allison Becker, our AmeriCorps Program Director at 775-298-0186 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
