Community Fund Grants

Megan Weiss, Donor Services Manager, recently announced the Parasol Tahoe Community Foundation’s unrestricted grant cycle highlighting leadership. The funds available for the cycle total $50,000 and the average grant size will be approximately $5,000. Grants-article

“The purpose of Parasol’s Community Fund is to identify and support innovative, collaborative organizations that address community need and demonstrate the capacity to provide unduplicated quality programs or services that positively impact the Tahoe Region now and for future generations,” Weiss said.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Be recognized by the IRS as a tax exempt agency; 501(c)3 public charity, government agency, school and/or faith-based organization in good standing
  • Be incorporated in Nevada or California; in good standing with respective state
  • Provide quality services and programs to the Tahoe Basin
  • Provide quality services and programs in one of Parasol’s program areas of support
    • Arts, Culture & Heritage
    • Community Development
    • Education & Youth
    • Environment
    • Social Services

Completed applications and supplemental materials are due no later than April 1, 2013.  
All of the applications will be evaluated and read for qualifications by the Parasol Tahoe Community Foundation Program Committee. 

“We will be looking for community value, leadership strength; board engagement; innovative strategy; fiscal health, potential for growth and sustainability; and knowledge of the local and national scope of program area,” Mary Jurkonis, Program Committee Chair said.

The recipients of the Community Fund Grants will be announced on June 20, 2013 at the Parasol Open House.
