The Board of Directors of Parasol Tahoe Community Foundation announces the appointment of Aaron Moore to the Board. He has been serving on Parasol’s Investment Committee since late 2012 and joins Parasol’s all-volunteer Board of Directors, selected for demonstrating a high level of commitment to the Tahoe Region and a personal involvement in community engagement. The Board is responsible to the community for the overall management and growth of the foundation, including its operation, fiscal and investment policies.
“Two things really stood out about Parasol to me,” Aaron said. “I'm intrigued by the way Parasol can improve the efficiency of local non-profits, and at the same time increase the efficacy of donor-advised funds. Parasol's grants and financial services offerings enable the local charities to further focus their time and money on their specific mission, while Parasol's pooled, donor-advised funds offer meaningful cost and administrative savings for donors, in addition to providing access to an institutional money management platform.”Aaron has spent his career as a developer of analytical software. For 13 years, he lead technology as the CTO and a board member of Zephyr Associates, a pioneering vendor of style, risk and performance analysis software for the investment management industry. His responsibilities included building the technical teams, designing and managing the development of Zephyr's flagship product, StyleADVISOR, and overseeing the evolution of all of Zephyr's product roadmaps. In 2007, Aaron played a key role in facilitating the sale and transition of Zephyr Associates to new ownership.
Prior to Zephyr Associates, Aaron launched Regress, a regression analysis software package that has been site licensed by many leading business schools. Aaron also serves as a regular guest speaker in the Investment Modeling course at the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
Aaron studied Biochemistry at U.C. Santa Barbara and holds a master’s degree from the Stanford Graduate School of Business, where he was a Sloan Fellow.
As a resident of Zephyr Cover since 1995, Aaron is established in the Tahoe Region and participates in many of the local amenities as well as playing soccer, skiing, traveling and spending time with his family.
